About The Startup Series: COVID Edition

The Startup Series: COVID Edition, is a program of the Downtown San Diego Partnership’s Collaboratory for Downtown Innovation–powered by Startup San Diego and Mission Edge.

This workshop (third of five) is designed for entrepreneurs, early-stage business owners, and founders who have recently launched or are thinking of launching a startup company.

Customer Empathy

As you build your business, understanding your customers and their needs is a key area of focus. Customer research methods normally include interviews, surveys, and observation. How can this important work still take place during this period of social distancing? And more importantly, how do we lean into empathy with our target customers during times of crisis?

What will I learn?

This session will take a deep dive on empathetic customer research – offering an effective approach and tools to equip you for success. You’ll walk away with direction on how to truly understand your customer segments, what real point points they experience, and how to evaluate their current shifting needs and evolving motivations during the uncertainty of COVID.

This is one of a five-part workshop series:

  1. The Entrepreneurial Leader Mindset
  2. Embracing Resiliency and Finding Opportunities
  3. Customer Empathy
  4. Unique Value Proposition and Storytelling
  5. Distilling Chaos and Taking Action

Registrations are now open for all 5 events.
