1st Mondays March 2023 Recap & Pictures

After careful planning, the Startup San Diego and ArkusNexus team organized and hosted the first 1st Mondays of the year in Tijuana, Mexico! More than 110+ San Diegans and Tijuanans came together at the ArkusNexus MIND Hub to build up the startup community and learn how both sides can collaborate and work together.
For some San Diegans, this was their first time in Mexico but they were met with warm hospitality from Roberto Ramirez and Dayra Gamiño of ArkusNexus. ArkusNexus and the Startup San Diego team led over +60 San Diegans across the border and into the private shuttle going straight to the MIND Hub.
Kicking off opening remarks and introductions was Cheryl Goodman, Startup San Diego Vice Chair and Founder of FindGood.tech. Cheryl later welcomed moderator Marco Barraza, VP of Enterprise Operations of ArkusNexus who led the conversation about tech, talent, and innovation in Tijuana with expert panelists:

- Marc Barron, Co-founder at CourseKey
- Gustavo Fernández De León, Founder of the ENBC Escuela de Negocios de Baja California & Co-founder of Geeks Academy
- Cruz Vargas, Founder at nice2chat

It was an incredible night full of networking, tacos, and local brews. Huge shout to the local Tijuana breweries Autónoma Cerveza Mexicana, Lúdica Cervecería, and Sci-Hop Brewing Co. for providing the beverages and Taco-N-Todo for the delicious Sonoran style tacos.
