Startup San Diego and Mission Edge have joined forces to announce a free startup series for early-stage entrepreneurs, business owners, and industry professionals in the lead-up to this year’s San Diego Startup Week. Are you a closet entrepreneur who has an idea and curious whether it might be San Diego’s next unicorn? Have you taken the plunge into startup life and in the midst of market validation? If you answered “yes” to either of those questions you need to check out The Startup Series!
Powered by the Collaboratory for Downtown Innovation and Downtown San Diego Partnership, this five-part series will feature hands-on workshops as well as presentations by industry experts. Held every two weeks starting March 17th, each event will tackle a different topic to help entrepreneurs and other professionals navigate the tricky business of starting, running and owning a startup.
Startup San Diego’s Executive Director, Alexa-Rae Navarro, says the series aims to support the growing entrepreneurial community in the city and give them the tools and confidence needed to be successful.
“The workshops focus on both the tactical and interpersonal skills that entrepreneurs need to build sustainable businesses here in San Diego,” Navarro says. “Our aim is to facilitate the growth of local startups and to arm them with a toolkit to successfully launch and scale.”
Workshops
- March 17th: The Entrepreneurial Leader Mindset
- March 31th: Business and Impact Model
- April 14th: Customer Development and Validation
- April 28th: Fundraising and Pitching
- May 12th: Lessons Learned and Speed Mentoring
Shortly after the final workshop in the Startup Series, Startup San Diego’s annual event, San Diego Startup Week, will be held at the Convention Center.
