SDSW 2018 is a full week from June 25-29, 2018 with the most activities occurring at the San Diego Concourse in downtown San Diego. Getting There

Directions

The San Diego Concourse (202 C Street, San Diego, CA 92101) in downtown San Diego is easily accessible from throughout the region. It is located in Civic Center Plaza next to the San Diego Civic Theatre.

From I-5 South exit Front St toward Civic Center. Continue onto Front Street for 5 blocks and turn left on B Street. Make another left onto 1st Avenue and keep right to enter the Evan V. Jones Parkade adjacent to the San Diego Concourse.

From I-5 North use the 2nd lane from the right to exit on 6th Avenue toward Downtown. Keep left at the fork and merge onto Sixth Avenue. Continue for 2 blocks and turn right onto Ash Street. Go for 6 blocks then turn left onto Front Street. Turn left on B Street and an immediate left onto 1st Avenue. Keep right to enter the Evan V. Jones Parkade adjacent to the San Diego Concourse.

From SR-163 South the freeway continues onto 10th Avenue. Turn right onto B Street and left onto 3rd Avenue. Make a right on Broadway, then a right onto 1st Avenue. Keep right to enter the Evan V. Jones Parkade adjacent to the San Diego Concourse.

From CA-94 West use the left 3 lanes to take the M L King Jr Freeway exit toward Balboa Park/Downtown/CA-94. Continue west onto F Street and turn right on 5th Avenue. Turn left onto Broadway then right on 1st Avenue.

Parking

No free parking this year folks, we’re bootstrapping. However, we do have some tips and tricks for you and listed below are the closest parking lots within walking distance to the venue besides the Evan V. Jones Parkade at Civic Center Plaza. After parking, walk toward the Concourse at 202 C Street and you can enter the Civic Center Plaza from A Street, C Street, or 3rd Avenue.

Metered parking

Spots are limited but inexpensive. 2017 rates are $1.25 per hour. They all accept coins and some also accept credit cards. Currently parking meters are enforced from 10:00am to 8:00pm Monday – Saturday.

Transit

The MTS Orange or Blue Line trolley lines drop off at Civic Center station right in front of the Concourse. They also connect to Santa Fe Depot, where you can catch the NCTD COASTER or Amtrak. MTS routes 2, 7, 30, 50, 110, 120, 901, 215, 235, 280, 290, 923, and 992 have stops downtown within a few minutes’ walking distance of the Concourse – Google it.

Download The Free Ride app (affectionately known as FRD and pronounced ‘frehd’) or hop on or wave them down anywhere within their service area in downtown San Diego!

Dockless Bike & Scooter Share – you have many options. AND your 1st ride (within 30 minutes) is free with most companies!

Sessions open to waiting list attendees 5 minutes before session start –  so get there early and grab a seat to maximize your RSVP!

Where to Stay

A hotel block is available at The Sofia Hotel (150 W Broadway, San Diego, CA 92101) from June 25-29, 2018. Call 619-234-9200 or 800-826-0009 to make reservations under Startup San Diego (Group# 471853). Group rates are available until Monday, June 4. Deluxe rooms with one queen bed are available at the group rate of $135 plus hotel taxes and fees. Note a credit card is needed for booking.

Balboa Park – Walk down a lane lined with Spanish style architecture. Explore the Museum of Man or the Botanic Gardens, along with a host of other museums!
Cabrillo National Monument – Check out the the trademark lighthouses, play in the tidepools, or enjoy a view of San Diego  Bay.
Downtown La Jolla/La Jolla Cove – Sea lions, beautiful views, and beautiful people. If you want to get active, try out kayaking or paddleboarding here.
