The Saint, Founder of Paantine Tea & Wellness - 1st Mondays Mini Podcast

In this episode of the Startup San Diego 1st Mondays Mini Podcast, we sit down with The Saint, founder of Paantine Tea & Wellness. The Saint shares how a lifelong connection to tea, inspired by her mother, became a mission to help people slow down, reconnect, and find mindfulness in even the busiest workspaces.

Quick Summary

  • A mission rooted in connection: The Saint founded Paantine Tea & Wellness to help people connect to themselves and others through mindful tea drinking and tea ceremony.
  • Mindfulness that fits any schedule: Tea meditation doesn’t require an hour-long ritual; with the right technique, it can happen in as little as 30 seconds, anywhere, even in a chaotic workplace.
  • A fresh take on workplace caffeine: The Saint’s core pitch to companies is turning routine coffee or tea breaks into intentional, productive moments of mindfulness rather than just caffeine fixes.
  • Built on 18 years in education: Drawing on nearly two decades of teaching experience, The Saint has designed the technique to be accessible to anyone, regardless of prior meditation experience.
  • Beyond tea: The concept extends beyond tea to coffee, matcha, water, and even juice meditation, making it approachable for people of all ages, including children.

Who Is The Saint?

The Saint is the founder of Paantine Tea & Wellness, where she hosts tea meditation sessions and traditional tea ceremonies. Her mission goes beyond the drink itself: she teaches people how to drink tea mindfully so they can carry that awareness back into their daily lives, becoming more present, seeing things more clearly, and slowing down even in the middle of a busy workday.

Bringing Mindfulness Into the Workplace

The Saint’s goal is to share how a simple tea meditation can be woven into everyday life and work. She points out that most workplaces already run on caffeine, coffee, tea, or otherwise, and asks a simple reframing question: what if that ritual became productive instead of just a jolt of energy? Her technique is designed specifically for fast-paced work environments, proving that mindfulness doesn’t require stepping away from the chaos, just a different way of engaging with it.

Why the Startup Community Matters to Her

By bringing tea meditation into workplaces, she hopes to help teams become more productive, focused, and grounded, outcomes that resonate directly with founders navigating high-pressure environments.

The Challenge: Awareness

The biggest hurdle The Saint faces is that tea meditation is still an unfamiliar concept to most people. Part of her mission is educating others that it doesn’t require a long, formal session,it can happen anytime, anywhere, once you know the technique. With 18 years of experience in education, she’s built her approach to be accessible to anyone, whether or not they have any background in meditation. She’s also expanded the concept beyond tea to coffee, matcha, water, and even juice meditation, a version she’s used to introduce the practice to her own children.
